Why We Celebrate
The purpose of the 2024 Juneteenth Golf Classic is to Celebrate, Support, and Collaborate with our community. This year we are doing that by raising awareness and funds for area Black-owned businesses.
Support Black Owned Businesses
This year a portion of the monies generated by the 2024 Juneteenth Golf Classic will go to fund area Black business owners with micro-grants; like last year's recipient, Dr. Londyn Peeler of Refined Chiropractic & Wellness. Dr. Peeler decided to open her medical facility because she knew she wanted to give the community she grew up in access to quality medical services. The Juneteenth Golf Classic was pleased to award Dr. Peeler $10,000 to further her business. We do all of this in conjunction with the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce (DBCC). The DBCC serves as an advocate for the creation, growth and general welfare of Black-owned businesses and organizations across North Texas. They have helped provide access to millions of dollars to fund Black-owned businesses, and have continued their efforts with the Juneteenth Golf Classic.
This year we are honored to have PGA Pro, Clay Myers II,PGA as our honorary chair. Clay's mission is to grow the game of golf in our community, while playing on an elite professional level.
